To be my father

I was telling Shu how I'm slowly becoming my dad as I grow older. He said he's noticed it all along.

My dad was the type of guy who'd expect the dining table to be set properly upon serving meals. Glass of water. Fork and spoon. Serviettes. Elbows off the table. Sit up straight. Chew with your mouth closed.

He's also the one who would expect my bed to be tidied upon waking up. He taught me how to sweep the floor properly. How to hold onto a pencil properly.

I could never raise my kids the way he raised me. But I can still use everything he's ever taught me growing up. Carpentry and tools to fix things. How to plan properly and how to drive properly.
