Better late than never

 Happy New Year!

It's been a while since I posted anything. To be honest, I haven't really been doing anything. OK, I've been doing a lot of art. Random art.

Oh yeah! Just before the end of 2021, Shu and I decided to have lunch over at our usual spot (Royale Chulan Damansara) and then walked over to IPC coz there's a Toys 'R' Us there and we wanted to see if they carried any Ghostbusters toys. They did. Yes, we spent....... Money.......

The boys got themselves a PKE meter each. Yusuf added on the Podcast Plasma Series figure. Safiyya got herself a Kindi Kids thingy...... Shu got me the Ecto-1 😁 The. Kids. Were. So. Jealous. Of. Me.

Anywho, we've had 2 weekends in a row watching Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. This weekend, we decided to take the kids out.

It's monsoon season in KL right now. That means rain. Lots and lots of rain. Some areas are flooded and people have died. It's no joke.

On top of the weather factor, it's the school holidays. I am not a fan of taking the kids out on holiday somewhere while the whole country is on holiday coz I have trouble getting through crowds...... Erm....... I don't deal with it very well.

But today, Shu told me he's got a plan when we got up before sunrise. By the time I got ready, it turned out that the boys had already been up and they were all ready to go.

We headed south. Shu said the weather wasn't gonna be super sunny but we could still have a good time. We arrived at the PD Ostrich and Animal Farm. The kids were so psyched to see animals. They always are.

After that, we had to find some lunch but it started pouring so we drove around for a bit. Finally settled on a shop by the road.

Actually, the dish to eat when in Negeri Sembilan is masak lemak cili api but my tummy can't take foods that are too hot so I ate asam pedas instead. It was good 😊

Do......Ray..........Egon............

*Spoilers ahead* DO NOT READ if you are planning to watch Ghostbusters Afterlife

Ray.........when someone asks you if you're a God, you say YES!

He definitely did NOT make that same mistake this time around 😉

We decided to take the kids out for a movie after all. People are still out of town on holiday or whatever.......the cinemas are still empty.........it was a good plan.

Yusuf had been wanting to watch Ghostbusters Afterlife since he first saw the trailer to the movie. I saw the trailer but at the time I didn't think much of it. I just thought they had to save the Ghostbusters franchise from the last disastrous women-based cast. To me, the Ghostbusters will and always be Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Ray Stantz and Dr. Peter Venkman.

Anywho, I am so glad we went to see the new movie because I was on a roller-coaster ride of emotions from the first sight of the P.K.E. meter to the ghost trap all the way till the end of the movie when we saw the ghost of Dr. Egon Spengler. And at that very moment when I saw a glimpse of the Ecto-1, I was like "NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!!"  and then, somewhere along the movie, the iconic siren sound came on and my heart stopped beating for a brief moment!

When Phoebe made the ONE phone call and she decided to call the "number on the screen" from the Ghostbusters ad from the 80s , I kinda thought it made sense to have Dr. Ray Stantz at the other end picking up the phone because it started with Spengler and Stantz after all. I was screaming and crying at the same time. Then, the scene where backup arrived and more proton pack streams were shot towards Gozer, it was Stantz, Venkman and Zeddemore!

I must say, McKenna Grace's performance in this movie was top notch! She was like a little girl version of Egon Spengler and it wasn't just because of her hair and glasses. There were other stuff in the movie like the metal helmet with wires which was placed on Louis Tully, the 80s pulse machine. OMGOMGOMG! Janine was the first one to appear in the movie chronology and was again screaming and crying at the same time!

And then, when the movie ended I saw the name Sigourney Weaver and I was like "wait, when??......." and there was a scene where Dana was doing that electric shock psychic test on Venkman.

I was NOT DISAPPOINTED at all by the movie and I highly recommended it to Eeno and my mom. The kids were super psyched throughout the entire movie. It was good.
