I've met and known many people who spoke about not giving crap about paying back their study loans when I was working. My initial thought was "hurmm, maybe they don't care much about their future. Oh well...." They said "the most that would happen is that we'd get blacklisted"
Of course, they didn't even bother checking what "getting blacklisted" meant. Years later, some discover that they are unable to leave the country. But who cares, right? It's not like you wanted that holiday overseas anyways.
Some discover that they finally found a house that they like but they don't have the money for the deposit coz unlike non-blacklisted people who'd need to pay up 10% up front, they have to come up with a 30% downpayment instead. But hey,it's just 30% of the price of the house you want. It's no big deal, right?
