The Spider Incident : Royale Chulan Cherating

We were on our way home from Kuala Terengganu. Back from the long holiday over Eid. Shu had planned a short getaway before actually going home. Let's face it, we needed to be at a beach.

Anywho, since Shu is already a member with the Royale Chulan hotel chain (thanks to our long stays in Mutiara Damansara) we decided to check out the hotel in Cherating.

The place was new and was previously owned by the Sultan of Pahang. Basically, the lobby and reception area was his private getaway. The rest of the resort was extended and constructed.

We rented a villa with a neat view. It was tight. The original idea was to stay over 2 nights but then something happened.

It was midnight and I had fallen asleep on the bed with Safiyya. Yusuf was watching tv and Ali Imran was already asleep on the floor. Shu came out from the washroom and screamed. Seriously, it was a legit scream because it totally woke me up.

It turned out that there was a huge spider that came out from the curtains near the bed and that it crawled behind the frame of the sofa area by the window. I didn't see it but I knew it was something to protect the kids from because Shu is an arachnophobe.

I immediately grabbed Safiyya as he got on the phone with the front desk. They sent up a security guard. The dude was blur and had no clue what was happening. By then, Shu had picked up Ali Imran and Yusuf and I were on the foot stand.

Shu asked the guard if he had any plans to kill the spider. His reply was yes. How, we wondered...... He went outside and picked up a slipper :-/ At this point, we were thinking 'We Are Gonna Die' The next thing he said was that he was gonna wait for his partner to come up.

The other guy arrived and after understanding the gravity of the situation, he said he was going to kill the spider. He walked out and grabbed a broom. So I thought, 'Yep, he's gonna get this done'

We told them where we thought the spider was at and they took apart the entire sofa. Then, one guard wiggled the blinds and the spider came out. It was moving fast and it got onto the bed and then it disappeared for a bit and it was back up on the bed and when it was on the floor behind the nightstand BOOM! The guard smacked it to its death.

It was chaos for a bit but after tge guards left, we were trying to decide whether to stay the night. We did and there weren't any more spider encounters after that but everyone slept on the bed that night. Keeping away from the headboard and edges.

Counting my blessings

Shu and I went way back and I am always grateful to have married him and gotten to know how awesome his parents are. If I were to have a second mom and dad it would be them.

My mum and my aunt and my sister were all traditional dancers. Not professional but I had trouble coordinating my limbs to the groove. Anywho, this was one of our favorite songs to dance to together in the lounge area where my dad's audio system was at.

April 17th 2017

I gave birth to a baby girl. Not sure what time exactly. I was hitting 39 weeks and my contractions were severe. The plan was to have me induce the baby out on Sunday night as I did with Ali Imran. For some strange reason, I didn't have any dilation even though my contractions were getting more and more intense. I was set up for an epidural shot when things just went south. It turned out that I screamed from a pain and went into a seizure. When I woke up, I was in the ICU and the surgeon and the nurses were trying to get me to wake up. I was heavily drugged that I didn't even realize that the baby was already taken out. Spent the rest of the week at the hospital and there are still things I can't quite tell happened that my husband wanted me to know or tell me. This is a strange recovery process.

36 weeks

This is my third pregnancy and it's been the longest and hardest. It seems like I've been pregnant forever. The worst part of the pregnancy is the body aches and non-stop throwing up. I'm not that lucky when it comes to being pregnant. This time around, my old pain from falling off while roller blading back when I was 13 was coming back in the worst possible way. I was considering a planned c section at first,but it's not gonna help much since my pelvic bone is wrecked pretty badly. The only thing I can do is to get my shit together and face the pain with a bit of help from an epidural shot which I have never taken before. All I know is that I am in for some really painful shit. It's a matter of how strong I am and probably how much adrenaline power I have

Yusuf's 4th birthday

We decided to throw a costume party and just let the kids play and have fun. Originally, it was a Toy Story themed party. Then,we realized that not many people know the characters from the film. So we ended up with just a regular costume party.

The hunt for Planet Robobot

It started with Yusuf's obsession with Super Mario. Shu and I introduced him to the world of old school gaming. Which included Super Mario Bros,Contra, Adventure Island and Ice Climber. Games that Eeno and I used to play together when we were kids.

Then,Yusuf did his own research and discovered Mario Party. The best platform for the game was the Nintendo Wii. So that was what Shu and I got. We headed over to Low Yatt Plaza one night along with the kids and got the Nintendo Wii.

But then, we didn't have the Mario Party game. Instead,Yusuf found the Mario Cart. It was ok. I decided to check out what other games we got and soon discovered Kirby. We were hooked. All of us. Including Ali Imran.

Then one day,Shu went out with Yusuf in search of a game but came home with a Nintendo 3DS instead. There were games but none was as exciting and addictive as Kirby.

So we began searching and hunting down Kirby games from one shop to another. Finally,we discovered a shop that had the Kirby game we wanted but not that particular game exactly. We got the Triple Deluxe and a Meta Knight Amiibo.

It's addictive and I don't mind continuing the hunt.

So........

2016 had been a year I've lost a lot of people I know and love. I lost both my grandmothers this year. My step grandpa died in December. My dad's friends died. My wedding planner died. It was sad.

My pregnancy was driving me insane. I was depressed on and off.I was throwing up a whole lot. Well, I still am throwing up and I am coming into my 6th month of the pregnancy.

I don't know if my pregnancy has anything to do with this but I seem to be easily annoyed by city cars. Tiny wheels, slow speed.......horrible pick-up and still trying to drive on the fast lane! And women drivers annoy me. Horrible planning. Horrible at parking their cars. Just horrible at everything behind the wheels. I think I have been observing way too much last year.

I am over sedan cars. I have kids riding in the car with me and with the insane amount of drivers on the road these days, I kinda think I'd wanna keep my kids safe. SUVs it is.

I am also over condos. Maybe for investment purposes its OK but not for living in. I want a front yard and a backyard. I want my kids to have a place for their bikes and tricycles. I want space to express myself. And for throwing get-togethers.

Maybe it is my pregnancy speaking...........maybe not. Maybe I really am over a lot of things.

Happy Year Of The Rooster

What a great way to start the year none other than a good old fashioned acrobatic lion dance.

It's gonna be a big year for us coz there's gonna be a lot of first-times.

Yusuf is going to playschool for the first time ever. We went shopping for his school supplies. Got his uniforms sorted out. Next will be his orientation.

Ali Imran saw his first lion dance show. I'm gonna introduce him to a lot more shows in the next coming weeks.

I have about 3 months before the baby comes and I am getting the last bit of Yusuf and Ali Imran's birthday party ready.

We are also preparing for our new house to be ready and renovated. We'll be meeting up with the interior designer for the first time this year.

And if all things go well,we'll be on a flight to the islands for a good, well deserved break :)

Qaiser Darussalam Open Day December 10th 2016

My sister works here just out of goodwill. It's a nice place for kinders like Yusuf. He's gonna go off to playschool soon and I haven't been doing a good job at looking into any yet.......balancing being 21 weeks pregnant and taking car of Ali Imran and trying to train a maid at home :-/
Anywho,Yusuf seems bored these days and really needs friends. I think Ali Imran is bored too but he's too young for playschool. He is ambitious though.....but still a baby.

Yusuf has recently shown interest in robots. Finally! He's beginning to dig Pacific Rim which happens to be one of my favourite movies. Shu got me a Gypsy Danger figure and got him a Striker Eureka figure. It's been fun. He still doesn't get Voltron but that's ok. He digs the Megazord which is cool.

Was at the hospital last night

As Ali Imran and I were on our way up the elevator,one of the nurses went out on the 3rd floor. As the elevator was closing, I heard a familiar voice saying," hey,you're going up ah?" I was like yeah. When I looked to see who it was, I saw Zeph. It turns out,her pilot brother had a tumor and was scheduled for a surgery that day. I was there coz my mum was admitted a few days before. She said her heart rate was too high. Maybe her lungs were not pumping enough oxygen to circulate her blood flow. Either ways,she was held back at the hospital the entire week.
