I don't understand

Some people are just unhappy with other people who are happy. And the best part of this is that they try to tell you how to live your life when it is pretty clear that they aren't happy with theirs. Sometimes, they'd comment on things they have never experienced before. It's weird.

You've made your choices and decisions and I have made mine. I am happy with my life but unfortunately, yours did not quite turned out as you've planned. How is this my fault?

It's one thing if I did ask for an opinion. I just never did.

Hi-5 live in KL 2015

Gone are my rock band gigs and concerts days. My life is all about Yusuf and Ali Imran now. And since Ali Imran is still just a baby, it's basically just about Yusuf.

He's been watching Hi-5 since his walker days. He and I would sing and dance to all their songs. I have memorized 90% of the lyrics to their songs.

Eventhough his interests have changed bit by bit to other random things like robots and cars,he'd still dance to some Hi-5 songs from time to time.

He liked Lauren a lot. And Stevie. Unfortunately,Lauren has left by the time we managed to catch their live performance. Stevie is still around although......he'll be leaving soon.

Anywho, the show was awesome. It took Yusuf a while to digest that the Hi-5 gang was on stage right in front of us. I had a blast singing and dancing with the other kids.

Just one of those days

Having a brother who is doing a degree in performing arts is just fun. I am already a guitar player and I write songs from time to time. He just adds a bit more jazz and bass and sometimes even rythm to what ever I play.

Since I have kids and they have cousins, I couldn't avoid Disney's Frozen because it's everywhere. About a year ago Yusuf discovered Let It Go and he was singing it from time to time. Eventually,I came to know the song myself.

A few weeks ago,I was at my mum's just busking on the guitar. I was playing random songs and finally,I found myself singing and playing Let It Go. Then,my brother came around and decided to join in on the bass guitar.

Before we knew it,we were rockin' the song. My brother paused and laughed. Just coz it's an E chord we had to make it into a rock progression! It was unavoidable but fun.

Yusuf was just looking at us like we just made it different than what he'd usually sing. We did. We totally did :)

Sometimes I still follow my mum around town

A few weeks back, I met my mum's friends and one of them happens to be the dad of an old school friend of mine. He's also a family friend. That's kinda how it is growing up for us. Our friends' parents are friends with our parents.

Anywho, this man I've known since I was 8 or 9 years old haven't seen me in ages and that day I showed up with my 2 kids. He was just blown away. Well,I've changed and Yusuf is gonna be 3 years old in January.

He was asking about what's been going on and I told him that I have been staying at home, raising my kids. He gave me a very good advice. Something I'll always remember.

He said "Never leave your child at the mercy of the maid". Of course,he said this after discovering how I ended up being a stay-at-home mum. There is a lot of truth in what he said.

Seriously, with the number of insane people waltzing into our country, can we really trust anyone at all? Especially with our kids?

I'm not against working mothers. It's much tougher on them but I just think that I have serious trust issues ESPECIALLY when it comes to my kids.

Its all about the he says she says

I don't understand people in general. Anything and everything is a problem especially with women.

Wear hijab. Don't wear a hijab. Married. Not married. Have kids and not have kids. Stay at home or working mothers. It's all petty to me.

I know what it's like to be commented on and I may have commented somewhere sometime in my life.

I have problems too but I'm not gonna rub it into other people's faces. Just live life. Be happy. Shit happens. We move on.

I have a supportive husband who understands what I go through and he is willing to go through everything together.

Holy Schmoly

It's coming up to the end of 2015. So many things happened and I am still hoping for an awesome birthday holiday. Thanks to these people who dislikes peace and happiness, we have to not only plan waaaay ahead but to only purchase flight tickets and reservations at the very last minute. God knows what else is gonna happen next :-/ I am NOT happy.

Anywho, looks like I'm just gonna have a birthday holiday elsewhere now.....huh?

In order to kill time and lift my spirits,I shall continue planning Yusuf's birthday party.

After so long.......

Shu and I were actually out and the kids were asleep in the strollers. We had dinner and had uninterrupted conversations about vape and weed and 3-D printers. It was pretty good. And I had an awesome frappe!

Everything is AWESOME!

So my mum was talking to my dad and a family friend

They were talking about how some jobs have to be taken home like phone calls and emails are neverending and stuff........

And I was thinking "Yeah......like when I finally get my kids to sleep and chillin' with my husband while rollin' up a joint and just as you're about to light it,one of the kids wakes up crying......"

It's neverending..........

A random conversation

Shu: Why don't you send me a picture of that handbag you want so much........

Me:OK..........

Starts browsing and finds a website with handbags........after a few pictures, randomly sends a picture of a pair of shoes from the same designer...........

I like the shoes a lot more than the handbag now...........

-____-"

Shoppin'

Was at a boutique looking at handbags and of all things he said about the first bag I picked up was "Omg...... Macam Phua Chu Kang if he was a handbag "

Caramel is the new mocha

Thanks to Juan Valdez Cafe ,I have discovered the Granizado!

Blended white coffee with caramel.

It's that time of the year again........

Sephora is luring me in with its beauty insider sale and all the newletters and invites..........

-_-"

I know for a fact that if I just say the word, Shu would say "OK. Let's Go"

The pressure is on and eventhough I have been really good at prioritizing,at some point,I'd still break. Hahaha........

Anywho, my only issue with Sephora SEA is that I only love going to the ones in Bukit Bintang and my recent discovery over at Avenue K.

I hate that there aren't samples given out here in Malaysia. I don't know why.

Blues buskers@The Curve

As usual, we were at our second home towards the weekend and our hangout spot had been the same for a long while now. It's mostly coz of live bands and coffee shops. Last weekend however, we did miss the St John bagpipe boys but something better happened........

Earlier that day, Shu told me to pamper myself at the hotel spa. Thank God I decided not to go. These uncles had what I needed to unwind.

Death.......

I had always been fixated on the one experience that we shall all go through some time in our lives. It bugs me that no one is able to tell the tale. We know it will come. It's just a matter of time. We don't know when. We don't know how.

As a Muslim, we have been warned and reminded over and over. The stages of death from the moment we are no longer alive right up to the judgement of heaven and hell.

Lately, I have been having trouble sleeping. Not because of the people I have lost. Not because of the very fact that I will someday lose the people I love. But it's more of what will become of me. Or rather, when the time comes, what state would I be in when I die.

Will my body be found, cleaned and buried properly? Or will I die where no one will find me? What if I won't even have the honor of being buried? Will I die in one piece? Will I be cleansed and prayed for?

It's not a scary thought. It just keeps me up. I keep telling myself over and over that if it's gonna happen, then it will.

It's almost like me telling myself that I may not survive giving birth because I don't know what's gonna happen.

Maid experiences

We had a maid when Yusuf was a few months old. She was young. She took care of Yusuf really well and I almost trusted her. After Yusuf turned one, I started a part-time job. It was a bit hectic but we got it all worked out.

One Friday evening, Shu took Yusuf and I out to dinner. When we got home, we discovered that the grill was locked but the front door wasn't. The maid's slippers were gone. We got into the house and checked her room and we found her cupboard empty.

We kinda anticipated it to happen. It was just a matter of time. She left her 3-month-expired passport. We kinda know where to find her but we just didn't bother. She didn't even have a permit.

We did apply for a working permit for her but thanks to bureaucracy, our application was pending. It had been pending for a long while. Then again,if she did have a permit and we made a police report,we would have gotten a ticket for letting our employee run off.

Kinda stupid considering the fact that we did go through quite an ordeal trying to get a damn house maid to begin with so why the hell would we "allow" her to run off? Then again, since she did not have a permit nor a valid passport, she is as good as dead out there anyways. It's just a matter of paying the authorities to let her stay in the country.

I don't get how the law works when it makes no sense.

Anywho,we attempted to get another maid a few months after Ali Imran was born. She turned out to be a liar and an asshole. We got rid of her almost immediately and asked for a refund. She ran off in the custody of her local agent.

I am NEVER letting my sons be taken care of or raised by or with the help of maids. Other than Kak Yah, they are all liars.

Such an honor.......

This is a Tomica replica of the Suzuki Lapin. It had been bestowed upon me by my son, Yusuf........
Of course, this was a free gift coz his car of choice was the Honda Civic Euro Type R. That and the movie Camaro Bumblebee :-/
I am ok with it since he also lets me have the Fast Lane firetruck.
