Surprise birthday treat

On my birthday,my husband took us out for dinner. It was awesome :)

And on Saturday,he took us away from home to the city.

He booked a 4 hour spa session for me while he took the kids out.

And he got the butlers set up a surprise for me when we got back to the room from swimming at the pool that evening.

It was a fancy schmancy birthday treat indeed. I loved it ^_^

Later on,Shu told me that despite the minor hiccups along the way, everthing went according to his plan. The pianist who performed at dinner on wednesday night played John Legend's All Of Me live as he requested. He thought they were just gonna play a recording or something ^_^

Hole Celebrity Skin

It will always be a favourite album of mine <3

Also,it used to be my band's warm up song.

Rashid and I love the album still. One day,he picked up the guitar and we started sing Northern Star. My mum hates that song. She said it sounded like the singer was dying. Hahaha!

Later on,we started singing Malibu.

Awesomest awesomeness ever!!!!

All You Wanted by Michelle Branch

This song holds a special place in my heart coz duh,I can sing this on full acoustic guitar WITHOUT messing it up.

I sang it to Shu on his birthday when we were 16. I sang at the main hall for a family event at his school. It was funny.

Last week, my newest fan whenever I play the guitar sat and heard me perform the entire song and he was so psyched. He always is. Ali Imran is always psyched.

Haha.......

There are 2 types of women

This is an inside joke which began when I was singing that Garbage song (which I love btw) in the car one night........

Some girls are like "Why are you not loving me enough?" or "at all?"

And some are just "Why do you love me? It's driving me crazy!"

Was laughing so hard over dinner last night

I've been spending time with my folks lately. Yesterday, the kids finally fell asleep so I sat at the dining table for tea with my mum and dad.

To break the awkward silence,my mum casually asked my dad,"....so.......did you mengamok at work today?....."

How very curious and interesting.

My dad replied explaining how his fellow students are too smart for their own good and blah blah blah. Finally,he said something about how he'd sound angry on the phone while calling the office.

And then.....my mum just HAD to ask,"....how do you sound like when you are not angry then?...."

Valet parking

Why?
Coz you don't need to go through the stress of looking for a space to park your car.
Only the people who parked the car for you parks the cars so you don't have to deal with people who are not capable of parking their cars properly.

Premier parking is stupid because you still need to park the car yourself which means you will have to stress yourself out trying to find an empty parking space. Also, you will eventually bump into drivers who are incapable of parking their cars properly. All the hassle you go through for the price almost if not, just as much as if you would be paying for valet services. You might as well park at a regular parking lot.

Malls with really tiny parking spaces are just not suitable for SUVs.

Valet parking it is.

So Sephora Malaysia's online website is up

Went to check it out. I thought it would have been the end of me coz Cash-On-Delivery is available where I live.

But then, I went ahead and keyed in my card number and I couldn't sign in. If you sign up or re-register,you (or ME) will end up with a White Card.

I have gone over to the Black Card side since early last year. So,NO I don't want to shop with a White Card. No thank you.

Looks like I'm gonna be hands on shopping again. Boo hoo........

Was hangin' around the airport the other day......

Then,I saw 2 ladies walking by in some glamorous clothing. Too glamorous for transits. Turns out,it was Kak Firah and her friend,Maha. They attended a wedding and were catching a flight home.

It was brief but nice. I haven't seen Kak Firah in a while.......since I haven't been online much.

It's not that I don't give a f*ck

You startled me and almost caused an accident, you *ssh*le!

I was driving with my kids on our way over to my mum's. As I was exiting the highway, a traffic police officer was making a lot of noise while flailing his left arm around. I honestly did not know what he wanted me to do.

Pull over and miss my exit? Stop the car completely and block the cars he was escorting from exiting?

There were 3 exits. I was going into the middle exit and his douchebag entourage were exiting on my right. So,those idiots in the black cars behind the car he was escorting decided to not let me make my exit.

We almost collided. Almost. Do these people not know how to drive? If it was a straight road, I wouldn't have bothered because I never speed when driving my kids.

It's a fucking exit! It has single lanes! So, HELL NO would I have missed my exit! And, in case you weren't aware of the situation, stopping the car completely would have caused an accident! Ain't nobody got time fo dat!

Yusuf's 3rd birthday

He's been wanting to go (back) to Legoland since December and since Shu and I said we will go on his birthday,he's been telling everyone that he was going to Legoland on his birthday. EVERYONE.

It was finally his birthday and he did not sleep throughout the entire trip down south. He kept asking if we were there already. He kept wanting to go. He had no idea how far it was but we eventually made it. He was super excited that he wanted to jump right out as soon as we pulled over out front at the hotel lobby.

Of course, since we were already there in Nusajaya,we headed to the Little Big Club over at Puteri Harbour.

P.s.: No photos from the Water Theme Park coz we left our phones in the hotel room :-/

Anywho, the following day,my mum insisted on throwing a little party for Yusuf over at her place.

Forgot to take a picture of Yusuf :p

-_-

Was talking to my dad about my attraction towards the new Jeep Wrangler......

He said,".....that is a peasant's car......"

-_-

Aren't we all peasants?

Otherwise,we'd all be driving supercars like bumper cars on the highway :-/

Field trip to the AACE@Sepang

My folks were missing the kids so they decided to come over. It was my dad's day off but since we live near his workplace,he decided to take us to the Asian Aviation Centre of Excellence over in Sepang. He said that he wanted Yusuf to take a closer look at the F1 car in the lounge area.

Well, since AACE is so near to the airport's takeoff/landing runway,Yusuf was more excited about how huge and upclose the airplanes were. He immediately spotted an Air Asia plane on the building when we got there.

I was just in need of my morning coffee. There were Thai stewardesses in training on lunchbreak while we had snacks and coffee. They spotted Ali Imran from across the room. Soon, he was just passed fromone person to the next, taking photos and stuff.

I was psyched to see the Airbus simulators. Aaaawesome!!! I'mma fly those someday ;)

I'm just being honest

So my husband asked me what I want for my birthday this year.......

I was thinking about the new Jeep Wrangler in gun metal :)

What a way to end a year!

Yusuf got sick and started throwing up. We got worried coz it was the holidays which meant that medical officers were around and not the peads......well,unless he got admitted.......which he did.

It was a long week.

As soon as 2016 kicked in,Ali Imran got some food allergies. Another long week of no-sleep nights.

Thinking that we could finally end our nomadic life (long story), we have only managed to clean our old house. We still need a fridge and pillows and possible what ever we bought from Ikea some months ago which has yet to be delivered coz we were moving.........sigh......Hopefully,we can have a home by next week.

So we were at the National Heart Institution on Friday night......

My grandma was rushed to the emergency over there late that afternoon. Docs called my mum and said that her heart beat was dropping and her eyes were shut. Turns out she had a heart attack. She's never had a heart attack history. She got the attack twice. The options the doctors provided were either to give her medication whenever it happens or have surgery for her 3 blocked arteries. At her age, surgery doesn't seem like a good move.

She's stable now. Still at the hospital.

It's sad enough that she is suffering from a bad case of Alzheimer's and that she has a hard time remembering who we are. I was heartbroken to see her in so much pain last week :'(

Flying

Yusuf had been wanting to get on an airplane. Doesn't matter where. He just wanted to see and touch and possibly fly somewhere. This had been going on for a few weeks.

We did take him to KLIA 2 yesterday. Since it is after all near to our home, it's not like we've ever been there to fly ever. Just to shop and hangout really.

Anywho,I suggested we'd take a flight from Subang International Airport one day and just take a daytrip somewhere on the ATR. It's still a plan. Shu had been working on moving our stuff in and out of our house(s).

Long story.

Today,we decided to just fly a damn plane instead. On a simulator of course! It was a Boeing 737. Never flown one ever although I can roughly anticipate what the cockpit is like. My dad had been flying Boeing aircrafts for over 20 years!

Conclusion: I am just not pilot material. Haha! I didn't crash the airplane but my landing was a bit off.

Years ago, back when I used to mess around with my dad's Flight Simulator on the pc, I was flying small planes like a Cessna. Never a commercial plane. I landed pretty badly. Crashed was more like it.

Next stop,the ATR simulator!!!!!

Kylo Ren or Kryolan?

Haha!

Was talking to my brother, Eeno about Star Wars and clearly he did not get that joke.

He is the movie freak of the family. You name the movie,he has got it covered. We don't share the same taste in movies at all.

Nope. Not. At. All.

I don't understand

Some people are just unhappy with other people who are happy. And the best part of this is that they try to tell you how to live your life when it is pretty clear that they aren't happy with theirs. Sometimes, they'd comment on things they have never experienced before. It's weird.

You've made your choices and decisions and I have made mine. I am happy with my life but unfortunately, yours did not quite turned out as you've planned. How is this my fault?

It's one thing if I did ask for an opinion. I just never did.

Hi-5 live in KL 2015

Gone are my rock band gigs and concerts days. My life is all about Yusuf and Ali Imran now. And since Ali Imran is still just a baby, it's basically just about Yusuf.

He's been watching Hi-5 since his walker days. He and I would sing and dance to all their songs. I have memorized 90% of the lyrics to their songs.

Eventhough his interests have changed bit by bit to other random things like robots and cars,he'd still dance to some Hi-5 songs from time to time.

He liked Lauren a lot. And Stevie. Unfortunately,Lauren has left by the time we managed to catch their live performance. Stevie is still around although......he'll be leaving soon.

Anywho, the show was awesome. It took Yusuf a while to digest that the Hi-5 gang was on stage right in front of us. I had a blast singing and dancing with the other kids.

Just one of those days

Having a brother who is doing a degree in performing arts is just fun. I am already a guitar player and I write songs from time to time. He just adds a bit more jazz and bass and sometimes even rythm to what ever I play.

Since I have kids and they have cousins, I couldn't avoid Disney's Frozen because it's everywhere. About a year ago Yusuf discovered Let It Go and he was singing it from time to time. Eventually,I came to know the song myself.

A few weeks ago,I was at my mum's just busking on the guitar. I was playing random songs and finally,I found myself singing and playing Let It Go. Then,my brother came around and decided to join in on the bass guitar.

Before we knew it,we were rockin' the song. My brother paused and laughed. Just coz it's an E chord we had to make it into a rock progression! It was unavoidable but fun.

Yusuf was just looking at us like we just made it different than what he'd usually sing. We did. We totally did :)

Sometimes I still follow my mum around town

A few weeks back, I met my mum's friends and one of them happens to be the dad of an old school friend of mine. He's also a family friend. That's kinda how it is growing up for us. Our friends' parents are friends with our parents.

Anywho, this man I've known since I was 8 or 9 years old haven't seen me in ages and that day I showed up with my 2 kids. He was just blown away. Well,I've changed and Yusuf is gonna be 3 years old in January.

He was asking about what's been going on and I told him that I have been staying at home, raising my kids. He gave me a very good advice. Something I'll always remember.

He said "Never leave your child at the mercy of the maid". Of course,he said this after discovering how I ended up being a stay-at-home mum. There is a lot of truth in what he said.

Seriously, with the number of insane people waltzing into our country, can we really trust anyone at all? Especially with our kids?

I'm not against working mothers. It's much tougher on them but I just think that I have serious trust issues ESPECIALLY when it comes to my kids.

Its all about the he says she says

I don't understand people in general. Anything and everything is a problem especially with women.

Wear hijab. Don't wear a hijab. Married. Not married. Have kids and not have kids. Stay at home or working mothers. It's all petty to me.

I know what it's like to be commented on and I may have commented somewhere sometime in my life.

I have problems too but I'm not gonna rub it into other people's faces. Just live life. Be happy. Shit happens. We move on.

I have a supportive husband who understands what I go through and he is willing to go through everything together.

Holy Schmoly

It's coming up to the end of 2015. So many things happened and I am still hoping for an awesome birthday holiday. Thanks to these people who dislikes peace and happiness, we have to not only plan waaaay ahead but to only purchase flight tickets and reservations at the very last minute. God knows what else is gonna happen next :-/ I am NOT happy.

Anywho, looks like I'm just gonna have a birthday holiday elsewhere now.....huh?

In order to kill time and lift my spirits,I shall continue planning Yusuf's birthday party.

Monday, November 23, 2015

After so long.......

Shu and I were actually out and the kids were asleep in the strollers. We had dinner and had uninterrupted conversations about vape and weed and 3-D printers. It was pretty good. And I had an awesome frappe!

Everything is AWESOME!

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

So my mum was talking to my dad and a family friend

They were talking about how some jobs have to be taken home like phone calls and emails are neverending and stuff........

And I was thinking "Yeah......like when I finally get my kids to sleep and chillin' with my husband while rollin' up a joint and just as you're about to light it,one of the kids wakes up crying......"

It's neverending..........

My babies know me too well

Yusuf knows the difference between my coffee pitstops and dining-in time.

He also knows my pampering mask sessions :)

Now,he compliments me whenever I wear something I don't usually wear like summer dresses and long blouses ^_^

A random conversation

Shu: Why don't you send me a picture of that handbag you want so much........

Me:OK..........

Starts browsing and finds a website with handbags........after a few pictures, randomly sends a picture of a pair of shoes from the same designer...........

I like the shoes a lot more than the handbag now...........

-____-"

Shoppin'

Was at a boutique looking at handbags and of all things he said about the first bag I picked up was "Omg...... Macam Phua Chu Kang if he was a handbag "

I have been eye-ing this handbag........but,I also want a 3-D printer.......

Hurmm.........

It's that time of the year again........

Sephora is luring me in with its beauty insider sale and all the newletters and invites..........

-_-"

I know for a fact that if I just say the word, Shu would say "OK. Let's Go"

The pressure is on and eventhough I have been really good at prioritizing,at some point,I'd still break. Hahaha........

Anywho, my only issue with Sephora SEA is that I only love going to the ones in Bukit Bintang and my recent discovery over at Avenue K.

I hate that there aren't samples given out here in Malaysia. I don't know why.

Blues buskers@The Curve

As usual, we were at our second home towards the weekend and our hangout spot had been the same for a long while now. It's mostly coz of live bands and coffee shops. Last weekend however, we did miss the St John bagpipe boys but something better happened........

Earlier that day, Shu told me to pamper myself at the hotel spa. Thank God I decided not to go. These uncles had what I needed to unwind.

Death.......

I had always been fixated on the one experience that we shall all go through some time in our lives. It bugs me that no one is able to tell the tale. We know it will come. It's just a matter of time. We don't know when. We don't know how.

As a Muslim, we have been warned and reminded over and over. The stages of death from the moment we are no longer alive right up to the judgement of heaven and hell.

Lately, I have been having trouble sleeping. Not because of the people I have lost. Not because of the very fact that I will someday lose the people I love. But it's more of what will become of me. Or rather, when the time comes, what state would I be in when I die.

Will my body be found, cleaned and buried properly? Or will I die where no one will find me? What if I won't even have the honor of being buried? Will I die in one piece? Will I be cleansed and prayed for?

It's not a scary thought. It just keeps me up. I keep telling myself over and over that if it's gonna happen, then it will.

It's almost like me telling myself that I may not survive giving birth because I don't know what's gonna happen.

Maid experiences

We had a maid when Yusuf was a few months old. She was young. She took care of Yusuf really well and I almost trusted her. After Yusuf turned one, I started a part-time job. It was a bit hectic but we got it all worked out.

One Friday evening, Shu took Yusuf and I out to dinner. When we got home, we discovered that the grill was locked but the front door wasn't. The maid's slippers were gone. We got into the house and checked her room and we found her cupboard empty.

We kinda anticipated it to happen. It was just a matter of time. She left her 3-month-expired passport. We kinda know where to find her but we just didn't bother. She didn't even have a permit.

We did apply for a working permit for her but thanks to bureaucracy, our application was pending. It had been pending for a long while. Then again,if she did have a permit and we made a police report,we would have gotten a ticket for letting our employee run off.

Kinda stupid considering the fact that we did go through quite an ordeal trying to get a damn house maid to begin with so why the hell would we "allow" her to run off? Then again, since she did not have a permit nor a valid passport, she is as good as dead out there anyways. It's just a matter of paying the authorities to let her stay in the country.

I don't get how the law works when it makes no sense.

Anywho,we attempted to get another maid a few months after Ali Imran was born. She turned out to be a liar and an asshole. We got rid of her almost immediately and asked for a refund. She ran off in the custody of her local agent.

I am NEVER letting my sons be taken care of or raised by or with the help of maids. Other than Kak Yah, they are all liars.

Such an honor.......

This is a Tomica replica of the Suzuki Lapin. It had been bestowed upon me by my son, Yusuf........
Of course, this was a free gift coz his car of choice was the Honda Civic Euro Type R. That and the movie Camaro Bumblebee :-/
I am ok with it since he also lets me have the Fast Lane firetruck.

Nice to meet you, where you been?

I can show you incredible things.......

I cannot teach my sons to socialize with other human beings. I don't know how :-/

The Sims was as social as I could ever get. Well, that and GTA 4....... I doubt if GTA is a way to socialize rationally.

But Yusuf is doing well so far. Ali Imran had been friendly since the day he was born. So I guess, God is giving me a little break by letting them have those instincts pre-installed......... Or what ever you call it.....

Randomness

So we were at an Ostrich farm in Negeri Sembilan today......
These chicks are about 6 months old

You are very much encouraged to feed the big birds

And befriend some African mountain goats.......they have spooky alien eyes.......

Well,I got over my slight fear of Ostriches and learned so much about them today that I almost want them as pets.......almost.........

Anywho, I am still working on getting over my addiction with expensive coffee. After all these years, I am still trying. :-/
